Dear SGA Family,
This is the ninth day of navigating these uncharted territories. I want to let you know how proud I am of our parents, who have taken on new roles during this time. Many of you continue your careers also while facilitating learning at home. I am proud of our students who are learning how to learn differently than ever before. I know it is hard to be away from your friends and classmates during this time. Last but not least, I am proud of our teachers who are willing to change their whole concept of teaching. All of you are representing the Warrior family well.
As of right now, it is still our plan to return to school on Monday, April 13th. If we are advised by local or state officials to extend this break, you will be the first to know. Please be sure to check the multiple means of communication we are utilizing: e-mail, SGA Friends and Family on the 411 (Facebook), and the School News App by Edlio.
We appreciate your patience during this time. Our K3- 5th grade teachers have been working on packets for the week of March 30th. Our 6th-12th grade teachers are continuing to work remotely through the Google Classroom. Below is an upcoming date for all families to mark on their calendars. Please see the grade group or groups below that best represent your family:
K3 & K4 families—
On Monday, March 30th, from 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM, K3 & K4 families need to drive thru the school’s main parking lot to be handed a packet. Mrs. Godwin, Coach B and I will be present to hand off a zip-locked packet of school work directly to your vehicle. This is not the time to park your vehicle or socialize.
K5- 5th families—
Also, on Monday, March 30th, from 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM, this drive thru will also be available to you for a two- fold process. The work originally given to your family needs to be turned in, in a zip-locked bag. An additional zip-locked packet of school work will also be handed to you, directly to your vehicle, for the week of March 30th. This is not the time to park your vehicle or socialize.
6th-12th families—
Students will be given work through Google Classroom during the week of March 30th.
However, Mrs. Leslie’s 7th and 8th grade English classes will need to drop off their work, but their new work will be on Google Classroom.
If you have any general questions or concerns, please give me a call on my cell phone, 678-296-6418. For specific questions about classwork, please contact your child’s teacher directly.
Go Warriors,
Matt Dalrymple
