Believe it or not, it has been one year since the nation and world closed because of the pandemic. Over
the last year I believe that God has challenged us to be closer to Him, closer as a family, closer as a
community and I hope and pray closer as a nation. The beauty of everything is that GOD is in control.

I want to personally thank our teachers. Last year, on March 13, our teachers pretty much had to
change their whole outlook as a teacher. I could not be more proud of the teachers at Southwest
Georgia Academy. They took it as a challenge, never complained, and continued to give our students an
education. They have always been and will continue to be essential workers and our teachers continue
to step up to the challenge that education brings in today’s world.
I also want to thank our students, parents and grandparents for trusting us to start back school this fall.
I have said this all along, our students need to be in school; they need education, social activities,
athletics and just normal life. And without the support of you, parents and grandparents, normalcy
would not have happened. Whether you agreed or disagreed with starting school, you all supported the
school’s decision and came back to all of our home away from home. I personally want to say THANK
YOU from the bottom of my heart. I know we are not at the end of this global pandemic, but I feel like
we are closer every day, and for that, I am thankful.
I will continue to pray for our school, our teachers, our students and all of our guardians… that we all
continue to come together for our school, to make it the best place that it can be.
I appreciate each one of you,
